Retinol works by reducing the production of sebum, the oily substance produced by the skin. Sebum can block pores leading to spots, blackheads and inflammation. It also works by speeding up cell turnover rates, rapidly exfoliating the skin and decreasing the buildup of dead cells within the follicle. This, in turn, reduces the formation of comedones.
Acne is one of the most common skin problems, especially among teenagers and adolescents. It occurs when the skin pores get clogged due to excess sebum or oil production. Bacteria and dirt can get easily trapped inside the pores, which eventually causes acne or pimples.
The reason behind the use of retinol for acne control is that it easily gets absorbed by the skin due to the presence of certain retinoic acid receptors in the outer membrane of the skin.
It is also a powerful antioxidant that can protect the skin cells from the damaging effects of free radicals. Free radicals are known to oxidize the skin cells, and promote the development of wrinkles and fine lines, resulting in aging.

How do you use this cream : If you are new to this products, use on a clean and dry face every other night to avoid irritation. If after a week or two your skin gets accustomed to the product, you can move on to a nightly basis. Apply a small quantity and spread evenly. Should not get in the eye. In the morning, wash your face thoroughly and use good sun protection.
